New Year’s resolutions are a great way to take a quick recap of last year’s goals and set plans for the next one. Unfortunately, by February around 80 percent of people have failed to stick to theirs (guilty as charged!). Life-changing commitments are just hard to, well, commit to, but some things should be cultivated as a habit sooner rather than later. And one such habit should be taking good care of your eyes and your contact lenses.
This article is a round-up of everything that was trending in 2021, our New Year’s contact lens resolutions, and style forecasts for 2022!
New Year Resolutions For Contact Lens Care:
For many of us (including me), the new year usually starts with resolutions for better health. Often, we promise ourselves we will eat a healthier diet, or quit a bad habit. And that’s great since the advantages of those resolutions also help our eyes.
So why not increase the advantages by adding a few more resolutions, especially if you are a contact lens wearer? Here are a few simple contact lens resolutions for you to kickstart 2022.

1 Replace Your Contact Lens Case Frequently
Make sure to replace your contact lens case every two to three months. Believe it or not, lens cases get dirty, just like a toothbrush! And just like you wouldn’t want a worn-out, bristle-falling apart toothbrush in your mouth, I am sure you wouldn’t want a bacteria-infested contact lens case lying around either.

2 Don’t Reuse Contact Lens Solution
You may think you are saving money by reusing your contact lens solution but trust me, the disinfecting capability of the solution is long gone! Use a fresh lens solution every time you keep your lenses in the case.

3 Do Not Sleep In Your Contact Lenses
Contacts are not meant to be slept in. Period. I have done it, and it doesn’t feel good! Your eyes become extremely dry, the risk of hurting your eye or tearing the contact lens while prying them from your eyes is high, and not worth it. Sleeping in your contacts also increases your risk for eye infection.

4 Visit Your Eye Doctor Yearly
Many of us (including me) tend not to go to the eye doctor until we notice a problem which shouldn’t be the case. It is crucial to visit an ophthalmologist regularly to maintain your eye health and detect any underlying conditions before it gets worse.

A haircut and a new wardrobe are the norms of a makeover. But there are other ways to refresh your look in the new year. I am buying some new colored contact lenses from Lenskart, now that I am obsessed with its fit, comfort, and styles!

Testimonial: How Contact Lenses Changed My Life

It is not that I don’t like my glasses, just that I wanted the freedom to go out without them playing slip-n-slide on my nose! I knew some friends who wore contact lenses and swore by them. And the truth is, I had asked about them at a couple of the high-end optical stores but never went through because the cost was exuberant! Finally, I decided to give Lenskart a try during my pandemic wedding in 2020 and I have not gone back! From trial candy packs to affordable monthly packs, from prescription clear contacts to vibrant colored contact lenses, I have now tried it all!
Whatever your resolutions, be it health or eyecare, you can always start a few weeks before the holidays as a practice. And if you are planning on buying new contact lenses for the New Years’ party, you better hurry to Lenskart!
