#1 Pick Sunglasses That Complement Your Face Shape
First things first, you need to make sure that you’ve picked the right sunglasses for your face shape because if you don’t, no matter what you do, you won’t get that perfect picture. Gone are those days when sunglasses came in just one shape and size, today if you’re looking for sunglasses for men and women, you’re literally spoilt for choice! You can sport a variety of sunglasses from aviators, cat eye sunglasses to wayfarers depending on your face shape. There are tons of options to choose from, so take your time but make a wise decision.

#2 Try Different Angles To Avoid Any Reflection
Even if you know how to click a selfie and may have all that you need, including the perfect lighting, you may find that you can see the phone’s reflection on your lenses. This takes the attention off you and those new sunglasses you’re trying to flaunt. The best way to avoid any reflections is by either lowering your phone to hide its reflection or take it slightly from above using a selfie stick (if you have one). But be warned, if you’re going to lower your phone it would result in a few extra chins, you may want to tilt your head to give yourself a toned-down effect. If you’re new to this, there’s nothing to worry about. It will just take you a few practice runs before you come upon the perfect angle.
#3 Wearing Mirrored Sunglasses? You’ve Got To Be Extra Mindful
Mirrored sunglasses can look cool AF, but if you’re wearing them for a selfie, you’ve got to be extra careful about reflections. If you do the traditional selfie pose, that is, holding your arm out in front of you, the sunglasses will in all probability reflect your hand and camera in the photo. This is also possible if you are wearing tint glasses. To avoid that, you’ve got to look out for new angles that won’t catch your arm in the reflection. Sunlight, especially when it’s past noon, is direct and harsh, with minimal shadows. My advice for a perfect daytime selfie would be around sunrise or sunset. This is the best time to take a photo because the light at this time will not be as harsh as during the rest of the day. And, if you take it from the right angle you may be able to catch a glimpse of your eyes through your lenses.
#7 Do Not Over Accessorize
If you want a selfie that’s Insta-worthy, always remember to keep it simple and if you’re wearing sunglasses already, do not over-accessorize. Wearing an oversized hat, long dangling earrings or necklaces can shift the focus from your sunglasses. So if you want your sunglasses to get all the attention, stick to nude makeup and an outfit that flatters it.
